Bakersfield, CA — The Kern County Cancer Foundation (KCCF) was proud to participate in the second annual Volunteer Big Kern on Saturday, an inspiring community-wide day of service hosted by the Kern Community Foundation in partnership with the Blue Zones Project.
The event brought together more than 1,300 community members who volunteered their time to support nonprofit organizations throughout Kern County. Volunteers assisted with a variety of projects and activities that help strengthen the vital work local nonprofits provide to the community.
Kern County Cancer Foundation is grateful to Kern Community Foundation and Blue Zones Project for including KCCF in this impactful event. Opportunities like Volunteer Big Kern help connect nonprofits with community members who are eager to make a difference.
“We are incredibly thankful for those who dedicate their time to support nonprofits like KCCF,” said Alissa Turner, Fundraising & Special Events Manager of the foundation. “Events and programs that serve local cancer patients are only possible because of volunteers who step up to help. We truly couldn’t do it without them.”
KCCF welcomes individuals and groups who are interested in volunteering and supporting its mission to assist cancer patients in Kern County.
