Kern County Cancer Foundation Shares Financial Navigation Study Recruitment with Support from Lotus Bakersfield Corp.

Bakersfield, CA – February 24, 2026 – The Kern County Cancer Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Lotus Bakersfield Corp. for providing the opportunity to share recruitment information for an important Financial Navigation Study focused on Latina breast cancer patients in Kern County.

The study aims to evaluate whether the Financial Navigation Program effectively reduces financial hardship—often referred to as “financial toxicity”—among Latina breast cancer patients in the region. Financial toxicity can significantly impact treatment adherence, quality of life, and long-term health outcomes, making it a critical component of comprehensive cancer care.

By assessing the impact of structured financial navigation services, the study seeks to better understand the real financial challenges patients face during treatment. The data collected will help identify meaningful, evidence-based solutions to strengthen support systems and improve access to resources.

“Addressing financial hardship is essential to ensuring equitable cancer care,” said Yesenia Moran of the Kern County Cancer Foundation. “The findings from this study will allow us to refine programs, advocate for expanded resources, and ultimately enhance services that may benefit not only Latina breast cancer patients, but all cancer patients in our community.”

The Foundation emphasizes that partnerships like the one with Lotus Bakersfield Corp. play a vital role in raising awareness and reaching those who may benefit most from participation.

The Kern County Cancer Foundation looks forward to continuing this important collaboration to improve outcomes and expand supportive care services throughout Kern County.
